How To Get Your Business Out Of A Slump- WRITTEN BY Tom Challan (Coach, Millionaire and Business Owner )

Some of you have been having a hard time in your business. I am going to be honest and say sometimes there are just hard times to work your business. Whether it’s because of the economy or people or life circumstances there are many things. I want to share a solution that will help you get to first base for the first time ever and create some momentum in your home business.

I grew up learning to communicate from people that were around me, namely my father. My dad was a hardcore biker, Harley, leather jacket, gang symbols, the whole bit. I remember him riding up to the house with gang buddies and pouring into the house.

I would stay with my dad a couple days a week and hang out with biker people. That culture was drinking, drugs, and getting in fights constantly. All the biker parents would encourage their kids to fight each other because the culture was that of fighting and violence. My dad would say to me, “If anyone says anything you don’t like, punch them before they get a chance to punch you.” I want you guys to visualize this; I grew up in high school thinking I was one of the dumbest kids there.

So when I got involved in a home business I had ALOT of junk in the drunk. But I thought I was the best, I had all the determination in the world. Ego, pride, you name it. I thought network marketing would make me a superstar over night.

Listen carefully;

It took me over three years to unlearn all the bad people skills that I had and relearn what it meant to honor people, listen to them and really get to know them for who they were. It took me three years!. Still to this day, I still catch myself when I interact with my kids, my wife, our team. I think, “Man, I need to get better at my people skills.”

There is always a higher level of people skills. If you are in a rut and struggling or if your people are, this will help you. A lot of the time it is past habits that people don’t realize they are doing. They keep doing the same thing over and over and over again. Again, junk in the trunk. If you have the people skills specifically for prospecting why aren’t you recruiting? If you are not recruiting there IS a reason. You have to ask yourself what is it I need to learn, root out, get rid of to start making money? Is it talking too much, not listening, ego? You have to be willing to confront those issues and deal with them if you want to move forward.

One of the biggest issues I notice with my coaching clients is they get in a comfort zone. Living in a free country we get very comfortable. It’s easy having everything we want at our fingertips to get comfortable and not be challenged. I found that even with pain we are still in a comfort zone. Through the problems of life we can still get comfortable.

One of the other things that can keep you in a rut is your belief level. We don’t have the true, solid, sold out belief that this thing really works. That this industry really does work. You have to believe your company works. Even if your company and upline up aren’t perfect. You have to realize it’s not the comp plan or the presentation.

The true root issue is YOUR junk in the trunk.

As you are going through this struggling time in your business you need to remind yourself, “I am determined, it doesn’t matter what my upline does, it doesn’t matter what my company does. I am going to invest in training, I am going to apply myself, I am going to make this work.”

If you have all the things you need to succeed; the people skills for prospecting, the posture, the training, belief, everything. If you have that but don’t believe it can work you might as well shoot yourself in the foot. You are going to be like a hamster on a wheel. Spinning and spinning. You may not think it is not coming through on the phone but it is. The home biz industy forces you and your people to grow and learn, you can’t stay the same. Your income follows your personal growth.

Some people it takes them a year some it takes three like me. Some of you may say its not worth it but listen to me its worth it. The skills you learn in home biz stay with you your whole life- Posture etc. on and on. Everything is available for anyone to succeed. Your people have to go through those ups and downs.

Here is what you need to break out of your comfort zone. You need to understand in your heart of hearts that it does work and you are going to do this. You need to create a culture that doesn’t allow for sticking your toe in and checking the water. That’s not what this is. For 90 days and see what happens. Be here a minimum a year from now. even if it’s now working for you right now prune back distractions. Press though even when you have fear. Increase your skills sets. It’s better to go to work first and then do our boot camp. Get some strategic training. It’s irrelevant if you don’t take action. The #1 thing you need to do to get out of your comfort zone is get in the game, take action and make a mess. Pray. Single focus of 80 %, %90 of day is mindset is recruiting. not figuring out to do it another way. We go through a cycle of trying to do this business every other way than we are supposed to. We want to do everything but the one thing that we are supposed to be doing and then one thing that is going to make you money. There are two types of momentum. Most network marketers are in this first kind of momentum. Negative momentum does not work; being scared is, I have good skill but I can not enroll. This momentum goes the opposite way. The other kind of momentum is when you know that you can enroll people, posture. You are making deep connections. Confidence, clarity, fruit produces more fruit. When you have momentum no one tells you no. When people call to complain- you don’t listen. You tell them it DOES work. It works! Hang on. Don’t give in. Be here one year from now. When you are in momentum, you can say the dumbest things on the phone and people will still enroll. The challenge for today is to push past whatever it is you are facing. Fear, disappointment. This is the learning curve you have to go through to get to the next level. everyone goes through this it is just different level. you have every ingredient right now to make this thing happen right now for you your family and your team. This is about transforming people’s lives. The reality is a lot of people will quit that is why you have to keep this positive outlook of always moving forward. Go make this the most productive week you have had yet.
